The Blue Macaw Parrots Are Now Declared Endangered Species
Do you remember the blue macaw parrot from the movie ‘Rio’? It was thought that it has become extinct, but now the suspicion was officially confirmed.
Recently, BirdLife International carried out a study that found out that the blue macaw parrots have not been seen in the wild for a long time. The loss of habitat, degradation, and deforestation has contributed to the extinction of their species. Moreover, they were not adaptive to the environment they lived in.
According to the study conducted by BirdLife International, not only the blue macaw parrots have been declared to be extinct, but there are also other seven endangered species of birds. Most of them belong to South America, Hawaii, and Brazil.
The human interference and deforestation are considered the leading causes of extinction of this species.
