Fortunately, there are plenty of natural remedies that can help us restore our health and improve the function of all body systems. One such remedy is the beetroot.

It is a reddish vegetable with an unusual taste, filled with essential nutrients which provide countless health benefits.
Its main active compounds are tryptophan and betaine, which relax the nervous system and reduce stress levels.

Beetroot has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and it can even prevent cancer.

Taking into consideration the mighty properties of this vegetable, today we are going to present you a recipe for a healthy beetroot salad that will give a boost to your overall health:

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 beetroots
  • 1 onion
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Vinegar

Instructions:

Peel the beetroots and cook them for about 10 minutes until they become softer. (Note that beetroots can’t become completely soft). Next, cut them into pieces and put them into a bowl. Repeat this process with the onion and then add it to the bowl. Finally, add salt, oil, and vinegar.

Consume this salad on a daily basis to restore your vision, cleanse your colon, and eliminate the fat from your liver.
Note that beetroot can color your stool and urine pinkish or red – a condition known as beeturia, which is absolutely harmless. If you have low blood tension, control it regularly since beetroot can cause hypotension.

Beetroot is also rich in oxalates, which lead to the formation of crystals in the urine. Therefore, if you are susceptible to calcium oxalate stones in your kidneys, you shouldn’t consume beetroot juice.
